Assetto Corsa Evo is a recent racing simulator currently in early access.
While the game shows great potential, its current interface feels outdated and not very user-friendly. This redesign project explores how a cleaner, more intuitive visual language can elevate the user experience.
In order to enhance the visual experience I conducted a benchmark analysis of similar titles like Gran Turismo, Forza, Dirt, and F1, as well as games praised for their UI design, such as Hitman. These references helped identify successful patterns in layout, interaction, and graphic language suitable for racing simulators.
This redesign was an opportunity to bring a more refined, user-centered approach to a beloved racing simulator. Combining research, visual strategy and interaction design, the result is a UI concept that better reflects the game’s potential and enhances player immersion by designing interactions compatible with steering wheels and physical controllers, allowing users to navigate seamlessly using hardware buttons — removing the need for mouse or keyboard.
